Seamus died in 2004. 

In this movie he is seen frolicking in the dirt on the crazy paving in the back garden, and also in a blue box on top of the kitchen TV, where his remains are a constant reminder of his vet bills.

But this film is not about Seamus, it is about Mrs Monk's, shoes, also a recurring theme of Mrs Monk's photography, that often feature shoes that she would not be seen dead in. She does have a magnificent collection of flat shoes, tennis shoes, sneakers, plimsolls, boots, crocks, and down right unladylike shoes, that she will never be parted with, just like Seamus' ashes, they are here to stay, forever in the way, because we have failed to do the decent thing and give them all a decent burial.

I have one pair of proper shoes, and a new pair of tennis shoes.
